The Child Protection for Equestrians – Refresher course has been specifically developed for equestrian professionals and covers: legislation and guidance, the different types of child abuse, how to spot the indicators of abuse and neglect and what to do if you have concerns about a child.
It has been developed by child protection experts at the ChildProtectionCompany.com in association with the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) in line with the latest government guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010 and BEF Child Protection Policy & Duty of Care Guidelines.
The course covers types of abuse, how to identify concerns, relevant legislation and guidance, child protection policies and procedures, how to handle allegations and complaints, and what to do if you have a concern about a child or vulnerable adult’s safety and welfare.
This is an online only course which can be paused, stopped and restarted at any time, to allow you to take the course at the pace and time that suits you, and can be retaken as many times as is needed to pass the final assessment, at no extra cost. The course takes around three hours to complete, and at the end of the course you will get a personalised certificate valid for 3 years and access to useful downloads and references. The course content and associated downloads remain accessible to you for the duration of your certificate, so you can refer back or refresh your knowledge at any time.
